PocOff Solo terms of use and disclaimer
Last updated: 3 October 2026 · Version 1
These terms apply when you use the PocOff Solo app ("the app"). Please read them, especially sections 2 to 7 and 9 (in bold), which limit the developer's responsibility and place certain risks on you. By tapping I agree in the app, or by using it, you accept these terms.

1. What the app is
PocOff Solo is a tool that helps you keep business records on your phone: quotes, invoices, bookings, expenses, documents, reminders and similar. It helps you work. It doesn't replace your own checks or professional advice.
2. The app is provided "as is"
The app is provided as it is and as available. The developer doesn't promise that it will always work, be free of errors, or suit your particular business. The developer will try to fix reported problems in updates but doesn't guarantee to.
3. Bookings and double bookings are your responsibility
You are responsible for checking bookings, availability and dates, and for avoiding double bookings. The app's double-booking warning only checks bookings entered in the app and marked confirmed on that phone. It can miss clashes (for example bookings entered wrongly, not marked confirmed, kept elsewhere or on another phone). The developer isn't liable for any double booking, missed booking or the loss that results.
4. Reminders, notifications and calendar entries may fail
Reminders, notifications and calendar entries are a convenience, not a guarantee. They can be late or not appear at all, for example when notifications are switched off, battery saving or "do not disturb" is on, exact alarms are not allowed, the phone was off or restarted, the time or time zone changed, the app was uninstalled or its data cleared, or the entry was deleted. You remain responsible for meeting your own deadlines, including renewing licences, certificates, insurance and other documents, and following up on payments.
5. Text read from photos may be wrong
The app reads text from photos (slips, odometers, licence discs, certificates and others) on your phone. This can make mistakes, especially with poor light, blur, glare, damage or unusual layouts. Always check every value it fills in (amounts, VAT, dates, expiry dates, registration numbers, VINs and so on) before saving or relying on it.
6. Money, tax and legal matters: not advice
Quotes, invoices, tax/VAT calculations, totals, expense records, budgets, time sheets and reports are only as correct as what is entered and the settings you choose. Check them yourself, and with your accountant or tax practitioner where needed. Nothing in the app is financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. You're responsible for meeting your obligations to SARS and anyone else, including keeping the records the law requires.
7. Your data and backups
Your data is stored only on your phone. The developer has no copy and can't recover it. You are responsible for making and keeping backups (Settings > Export backup) and for keeping the phone and backup files secure. Losing, resetting or replacing the phone without a backup will lose your data. See the privacy policy for how data is handled.
8. Free trial and purchase
The app comes with a 14-day free trial. After it, everything you created stays available to view, share, export and back up, but creating new records needs the once-off unlock (R99 in South Africa), bought through Google Play. The unlock belongs to the Google account that bought it; use Restore purchase on a new phone. Payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under its terms, together with your rights under the law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows:
- the developer is not liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, including loss of income, profit, bookings, business, data or goodwill, however it arises; and
- the developer's total liability to you for any claim connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app (for example the R99 once-off unlock), or R99 if you paid nothing.
This doesn't exclude liability that can't lawfully be excluded, such as liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act
Nothing in these terms limits or removes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, or any other law, that can't lawfully be limited or removed. If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
11. Fair use
Don't use the app for anything unlawful, and don't copy, resell or reverse engineer it except as the law allows.
12. Changes to these terms
The terms may be updated. If a change is significant, the app will ask you to accept the new version. The latest version is always available in the app (Settings > Terms of use) and at the published address.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Please contact the developer first at the address above so the matter can be resolved informally. This doesn't affect your right to approach the National Consumer Commission, a consumer court or any other forum the law gives you.
